ARCTIC EXPERTS

knowledge that runs deep

Trust and respect have been earned by our absolute commitment to the people, the land, the tradition and the culture.

Our Arctic outfitting team consists of 100+ men and women from many Inuit communities. The Inuit knowledge they offer is the level of comprehension that can only be gained from generations of living out on the land, sea, and ice. This deep understanding and appreciation for nature, wildlife and weather play a critical role in all our trips.

In one of the most extreme environments in the world, experience matters. Our staff and committed guides use their comprehensive Arctic knowledge to answer your questions and create an unforgettable experience.

We’re in it for the long haul, too. With a permanent presence in the Arctic, we actively coordinate and outfit hunts in every season. Every logistical detail, including types of gear, Arctic flights and accommodations, is handled from the moment you book to when you head home after your adventure with us.

Our client approach, know-how and extensive time spent in the Arctic communities we work in are sure to offer an unmatched Arctic experience. We are the Arctic experts.

OUR STORY

a brief history

Incorporated on October 27, 1980, Canada North Outfitting began outfitting for its first adventure hunts with the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic during the spring of 1981.

Throughout our 45-year history, Canada North Outfitting has supported community, culture, tradition, and conservation. Many Inuit hunters have found economic benefits and self-sufficiency in guiding, while carrying on with their hunting heritage.

The dedication of the Inuit guides who choose to partner with us has created unparalleled adventures in hunting and unique cultural experiences, maintaining an absolute success in every way.

In addition to being an outfitter, Canada North emphasizes partnership with communities and guides throughout Nunavut. We focus on being respectful, providing training and equipment to complement the already incredible abilities of the Inuit guides.
