Canada North Outfitting continues to work diligently with our Inuit guides in developing new hunt locations for the highly sought after Central Canada Barren Ground Caribou.
The areas we operate in are at the crossroads of several caribou herds that either migrate great distances below the tree line to tundra wintering caribou that remain year-round above the tree line.
The area is also home to a healthy population of Barren Ground Muskox, which occupies the same tundra environment as do the caribou.

Canada North Outfitting has been very supportive with both the GN and U of C on caribou data and support through our AWRF sampling programs. Canada North Outfitting is aware and respectful of the challenges the caribou face and take limited clients for these hunts and only support the harvesting of one caribou per hunter. All meat remains in the communities and is distributed according to community wishes.
